Thank goodness last week already ended! I went on a hiatus for one week straight to focus more on the final exams and my work. Today, my sembreak officially commences and it’s time to gear up everything that I needed to do this October! Remember when I revisited my 2015 goals and resolutions? Well, I won’t miss this one-month break and waste my time on totally unproductive things. From here on, I’m ready to make a change!

By the way, guys, my blog has been nominated for Bloggys – Philippine Blogging Awards, and I just wanted to say thank you for your continued support until now! Voting period is until October 31st, so if you could give me a little love and just a little bit of your time by voting, please vote for here: I would really, really appreciate it!

Okay, on to the point of this post. Since I was stuck in school for five months doing absolutely nothing but failing my subjects (half-kidding at that.. I hope), it is finally time to recuperate and create some activities that would jumpstart sembreak 2015!

Are you ready?

sembreak to be read books

Accomplish my Sembreak TBR List

TBR stands for To Be Read, and I’ve got piles of it since the first of January! I need to tick them off one by one so I could accomplish one of my 2015 resolutions, which is to read at least 50 books! I’m nothing close to 10 so that’s pretty sad. Hopefully this will help me decrease the amount of books I need to finish. (But when do they ever decrease? Every bookworm’s list is ever growing!)

Learn a new computer language

I’m so stoked! I’m planning to enroll monthly in an online class that doesn’t even cost half of my tuition fee. This way, I could really assess on my growth in terms of skills and knowledge (and not just competing against my classmate’s grades). Though I’m a Computer Engineering student, I don’t really feel like sticking to mathematics and circuit lessons. I know it’s part of the course, but really, I wanted to innovate something that doesn’t include subjects that don’t even interest me. This one is a great start!

Stick to my fitness goal

I’ve re-started on my gameplan to get fit once again despite having a couple of setbacks the last couple of months. I’m not shaming my body right now, but really, how did I let this happen to me? I cannot comprehend how I looked so terrible and oddly different right now. This is my cue to take fitness seriously this time. I know I’d mentioned this in my last post here, but that one was a reminder of how I could start all over again. I’ll be on to fewer food adventures in the next few weeks while I try to achieve this. I’m documenting a few of my progress, too, just in case somebody out there gets motivated or something. *grins*

sembreak with friends

Catch up with some old friends

I feel so terrible that I haven’t had the time to meet up with some of my friends back in high school. I can’t wait to finally be reunited with them and catch up on some bulky sets of hilarious (or not) news. This is one of the things I look forward to the most this semestral break!

Get rid of a lot of stuff in my closet and room

I’m also planning to have an online garage sale where I could sell some things I bought but never got to use. I’m such an impulsive buyer. A lot of clothes in my wardrobe are those that I wasted my money on. I eventually don’t like to wear them because it’s either I’m too fat to fit into it, or too flimsy for my liking.

I’ll be on my way to play badminton with the boyfriend in the morning today, and I’m also trying to work on my blog’s backlogs from the past few months. So much work to do; I hope time slows down!

  1. All these are great ideas for a term break! I’m also thinking of catching up with Game of Thrones (the books) since I got stuck on Clash of Kings because school started. I have also been inactive with my blog yet I have so much to tell. I hope I could catch up with my creative side soon. 🙂

  2. Hi! Goal setting is what I love to do especially at the start of a month. It makes me focus and learn more about myself. I love your first goal, the TBR Break! That is totally awesome! My goal is to finish one book a week but there are times I couldn’t make it. Instead of finishing 4 books a week, I just finished 2. Factors like family, work, and health sometimes make me slow in reaching my goal in reading a definite number of books in a week or a month.

  3. I’m planning to have a garage sale pud Mi pero I’m still having second thoughts kay basin walay mu-buy sa akong preloved clothes kay simple ra </3 haha. Sembreak's almost done! I hope you accomplished everything diri 🙂

  4. You just reminded me to get rid of my stuff in the closet. I have a pair of shoes I bought but sadly, I didn’t like how it fits so it just sits there collecting dust. Now I’m selling it in OLX. Maybe you want to buy it, Mimi? Hahaha. 🙂

  5. Congrats on the nomination! I’ve seen a couple of blogging friends nominated as well. Good luck! Sembreak makes me missed the time when I usually still spend it with my friends.. Most of them are busy lately so I’m usually glued to my bed whenever I don’t have plans for the day.

  6. Hi Mimi! I miss having sembreaks!!! 🙁 Good luck on your goals, you sound pretty pumped so I’m sure you’ll make a dent on that list. Deciding to do something is always the first step on getting things done, diba? 🙂

    1. Yep, exactly what I feel! Haha though I’m going to try my hardest this time. I’ve already started last Monday and so far I’ve been doing well. Hope I could continue with it for the rest of the month! 🙂

  7. Hi, April here! New reader. Glad your finals are finally over, so yea goodluck with your goals and activities this sembreak. & hope you can finished your TBR pile/s of books. Haha! One can never have/read too many book. (BOOKWORM PROB) Oh, well. Okay, take care. x

    1. Hello, April! Thank you for dropping by. I haven’t started on my TBR yet, unfortunately 🙁 I should definitely get my list ready by next week! Haha. Yesss, BOOKWORM PROBZZZZ

    1. I agree so much with what you said! I think sembreak is really made for that reason. I’m not going to let this month go by without having much of my goals crossed out! 🙂 Thanks, Cheryle!

  8. Congrats on the nomination! I just got off school for break as well 🙂 So far I’ve managed to finish reading a book (Landline by Rainbow Rowell), am about to start another one (The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer), have organized my closet for the cooler weather, and have set aside a pile of things to get rid of/sell in an attempt to minimize my, well, everything 😛 Have a great sembreak! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

    1. Oooh I love Landline! The first book I ever read by Rowell was Eleanor and Park, and I can’t wait to read the rest. I’m so in love with it! 🙂 Checking out that book by Meg now. Haha good luck on selling some of your items, too! 🙂

  9. Ahhh. Good old days, I miss having my semestral break. Reading books, eating food, and just be lazy. HUhu adult life is so hard, no sem break, puro work work. haay. Anyway, god bless on your fitness journey Mi. I’m having troubles din losing weight, hopefully i can get back on track din.

    1. Oh no, I’m nearing that phase in my life! Haha. Thanks, ate Joyce! I know you can do it. I just started this week and it gets pretty exhausting, but seeing the results is just so worth it! 🙂

  10. Hii! Congratulations of your nomination!!! I hope you’d win! 😀

Ah, sembreak!! I miss having sembreaks!! It’s been ages (literally) since my last sembreak and I spent it lazing around and mostly going out with my blockmates since it’s the last one we’ll have before we graduate. Huhu, I generally miss being a student. I hope you’d accomplish as many items on your to-do list and enjoy your much deserved break! 😀
