Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark is a five-star hotel and resort in Mactan, Cebu. Here are some of the facilities you need to check out to make the most out of your stay.
As of this writing, I’d already visited JPark Island Resort and Waterpark a lot of times now for work trips, blogging events, or staycations. For you to maximize further your day tour and staycations, here are five (5) things you shouldn’t miss when visiting here!
1. JPark Island Resort and Waterpark Dining Experience
Lunch buffets are already inclusive in Jpark Island Resort’s day tour rate. What I love about their outlet restaurants is that each dining spot caters to a specific cuisine, so you can choose anything up to your taste or to satisfy those cravings (Japanese food and sushi, hmmm?)
The Abalone serves international cuisines with four live stations grouped into Japanese, Oriental, Western and, of course, a separate one for the mouthwatering desserts.
For a taste of Asian-Mediterranean fusion, the Olive offers a unique blend of both cuisines coupled with your typical Filipino favorites.
Ching Hai is home to authentic Chinese cuisines and they have every dish in contemporary and classical varieties available. Their setup has an open kitchen showcase and they use only the freshest picks to serve their diners.
If you’re craving for Korean flavors, let Maru restaurant entice your taste buds. Enjoy your favorite Korean dishes here, plus you can grill some beef or pork the traditional way on your table.
2. Waterpark Adventure (Themed Pools)
One of Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark’s most astounding facilities is their themed pools.
They have pools available for all age groups, so everybody gets to enjoy the waterpark and still be safe.
Depth: 3.5 ft. to 5 ft. | Opening Hours: 7:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M.
The main pool, which can easily be spotted upon entering the grounds of Jpark Island Resort, is an azure body of water with a pool bar nested on its center. I love doing some sunbathing here right after lunch, or just lounging around after a day’s worth of play.
Amazon River & Wave Rider
Depth: 3.5 ft. | Opening Hours: 9:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.
The artificially-generated tide Wave Rider pool will take you to the Amazon River with no effort. Just hang into your water inflatable and the waves will take you on a ride round and back to its initial point.
Depth: 3.5 ft. | Opening Hours: 9:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.
Connected to the Amazon River is this pool which has a similar surface of a beach’s shoreline. They also hold some of their beach activities and Aqua Aerobics here.
Captain Hook’s Pool
Depth: 1.6 ft. | Opening Hours: 9:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.
If you have kids in tow, then this pool is definitely perfect for them! This one only have shallow waters so it’s safe for children, plus they have lifeguards in near distance. It has a Pirate Ship, a variation of slides, and a bucket splashing waters around which your child can play in.
3. Water Slides
Your trip to Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark wouldn’t be complete without trying out their water slides! Note: It’s best to ensure you’re in a healthy disposition to avoid accidents. To learn more about the weight and height limitations, check out the requirements first. The height of these slides range from 7 meters up to 10 meters, so it’s best to remember safety above all else!
No matter how fun these slides can be, I’ve got to admit they’re scary enough especially for people who are acrophobic or claustrophobic like me. So, proceed with caution and enjoy the thrilling bursts of these slide adventures!
Open Body Slide
It’s like the common slides we see on most waterparks, but this one is a few meters higher above the ground. With a slide length of 120 meters, it’s perfect for first timers in Jpark Island Resort’s waterpark.
This one can be a bit daunting because it’s an enclosed slide, much like being thrown into a dark wormhole. Its length is the longest of the three with 156 meters, so expect a thrilling ride because you can never really guess when you’ll end up at the foot of the tunnel. It’s fun and nerve-wrecking for first timers, but great for adventure seekers.
If you thirst for a more thrilling slide adventure, you must try this one for major adrenaline rush. Though its length is only 48 meters, faint-hearted people must still stir away from this because you can feel your heart leaving once you’re down into the spiral of the space bowl — you’ll feel your heart leaving your body. On top of that, it’s just a swift whoop down the slide and to the bowl, so make sure your body is ready.
4. Snorkeling and Fish Feeding
Further down the area of Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark is a short strip of white sand beach and a sea that houses beautiful aquatic creatures.
They have bread pieces provided by the resort itself so you can feed the schools of fish swimming around. You can also borrow goggles to watch them underwater as they race for the bread pieces parting from your hands towards their eager mouths.
This resort has carefully managed the marine environment to protect these species and grow the number of corals found on the seafloor. To this day, many guests have taken part in fish feeding and snorkeling activities — which is a fun inclusion to your trip, if I may say so.
5. Leisure Activities
Aside from the water activities, they also provide facilities for you to have a blissful relaxation, like their spa where you can enhance your well-being in a modern and sweet ambiance.
You may also rent out a premium cabana good for a minimum of three hours. Each is already equipped with entertainment systems, lounging sofa, and refrigerator with foods.
For kids, there are also the Game Room, Go Kart, Kids Club, and Miniature Golf Course to feed their adventurous spirits.
I haven’t stayed in Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark overnight so I couldn’t tell if their room rates are worth the price (UPDATE: I was able to stay in one of their luxury villas, and yes, it’s worth it!), but their day tour satisfied me enough. With plenty of activities and facilities to choose from, you’ll never run out of choices.
For Jpark Island Resort room rates, you may try checking this one out on their website for the prices and availability.
I’ve also written a travel diary of my first visit to Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark, so you may check that one out as well to see how my experience went!
