Blogging has always been something I did out of passion. How else could I whip it out of my system if it’s what keeps me sane amidst the crazy engineering life? Starting this blog never took off smoothly. However, I still took pride in curating my blog as much as others who painstakingly commit their time into beautifying their Instagram feeds. My blog was simply a creative outlet where I share all things food and travel-related. I take photos because I enjoy it. I write my thoughts because I like doing it.
Juggling the blog among everything else
Many people have told me that it’s already a feat that I discovered and pursued blogging at such an early age. Likewise, people have been telling me how the course that I’m currently taking up in college paves a different path to blogging.
It was hard to juggle at first because I had to concentrate on my studies. Later on, when I couldn’t manage everything at once, I had to stop for a month to get myself back on track with academics. Not only that, but I also have a flourishing freelance career wherein my entire tuition money depended on. I’m not one to ask my parents for college money since we’re strapped for cash due to my siblings going simultaneously to school.
But, I never expected this blog to receive nominations for some awards. Last year, Chasing Bleu also made it to the Top 5 of Best Cebu Food Blog Awards 2015 and Bloggys PH 2015 – Lifestyle & Hobbies Category – so thank you for that!
This year, one of the most prestigious awards in Cebu has recognized this blog again for the second time.
The 9th Best Cebu Blogs Awards 2016
This is the most anticipated awards night especially for Cebuano bloggers. Best Cebu Blogs Awards is now in its 9th year – and a lot has changed up to this point.
Cebu bloggers are now more mature, innovative, and creative. We have blogging organizations that have structures to keep things aligned with its members. Now, I could proudly say, that we are better than ever.
Therefore, this post is not particularly all for me, but for the bloggers who keep the Cebu blogging scene alive. For the bloggers who promote Cebu for what it is – full of wonders and beauty. For the bloggers who dedicated themselves, despite working on 9-to-5 jobs or taking up fully-loaded classes in school, to be better in their crafts.
Yes, this is for you, too. Congratulations — nominated or not — for being a blogger of Cebu!
And to my readers, whether you just stumbled upon this Cebu food + travel blog while searching for a review about a particular restaurant or merely passing by to enjoy my articles, I am grateful. For without you, I wouldn’t reach this far. 🙂
Lastly, I’d also like to thank our generous sponsors for making this event possible:
